Before you rewrite your app, get the blueprint right.
A Mobile App Roadmap gives your health tech team a prioritized, actionable plan — covering tech stack, architecture, AI integration, and the UX fixes that solve onboarding and retention. Stop wasting development cycles on the wrong features.
Trusted by teams at
You know your app needs work. You're not sure where to start.
You've got a backlog a mile long. Your dev team is waiting for direction. Stakeholders have competing priorities. Users are leaving reviews that sting.
Maybe you've already tried throwing resources at it — redesigning screens, adding features, chasing the competitor who just raised a Series B. Without a clear diagnosis, you're guessing. Guessing with mobile development budgets is expensive.
A roadmap changes the equation. Instead of "what should we build next?" you get "here's exactly what to fix, in what order, and why" — backed by data, user research, and decades of mobile architecture experience in health tech.
What's included.
App & Competitive Audit
A thorough evaluation of your current app across UX, performance, architecture, and App Store/Play Store presence — benchmarked against your top 3 competitors. You'll see exactly where you're falling behind and where you already have advantages you're not leveraging.
User Experience Teardown
Screen-by-screen analysis of your critical user flows: onboarding, core engagement loops, conversion points, and retention mechanics. I identify the friction that's costing you users — not opinions, but specific, documented issues with recommended fixes.
Technical Architecture Review
Under-the-hood assessment of your codebase (iOS, Android, or both). Technical debt slowing your team down? Architecture ready for the features on your roadmap? Integration points for wearables, HealthKit, Health Connect, or sensor data working the way they should? I'll tell you honestly — and I'll tell you what to do about it.
AI & Emerging Tech Opportunities
An assessment of where AI-powered personalization, prediction, or automation can meaningfully improve retention in your product — and where it would just be window dressing. Specific, prioritized recommendations rooted in what the technology can actually do today.
Prioritized Strategic Roadmap
The core deliverable: a sequenced, prioritized plan that tells your team (or mine) exactly what to tackle first. Each recommendation includes estimated effort, expected impact, and dependencies. This isn't a wish list — it's an execution plan.
Stakeholder Presentation
A polished slide deck summarizing findings and recommendations, designed to align your leadership team, board, or investors around a clear mobile strategy. You shouldn't have to translate a technical document into a business case — I do that for you.
Roadmap Review Session
A 90-minute walkthrough where I present the roadmap, answer questions, and help your team internalize the strategy. This isn't a document drop — it's a working session.
Focused, efficient, no fluff.
Typical engagement: 3–4 weeks from kickoff to delivery.

Kickoff & Discovery
We start with a 60-minute kickoff covering your business goals, user personas, competitive landscape, and what's keeping your team up at night. I get access to your app, analytics, and codebase. I start the audit.
Deep Dive
I work through the UX teardown, competitive analysis, technical review, and AI opportunity assessment. If needed, I'll schedule short calls with your product, design, or engineering leads to fill gaps.
Synthesis & Strategy
I turn findings into a prioritized roadmap with clear recommendations, effort estimates, and a suggested execution sequence. I build the stakeholder deck.
Delivery & Alignment
I present the roadmap in a live session with your team. We discuss, debate, and refine. You walk away with a clear plan and the confidence to execute it.
Scoped to your app.
Roadmapping engagements are scoped based on the complexity of your app and the breadth of platforms involved. Every engagement includes all seven deliverables.
iOS or Android
Best for companies with one native app that needs strategic direction.
iOS + Android
For companies managing both platforms and needing a unified strategy.
Multi-app or Complex
For organizations with multiple apps, complex integrations (wearables, HealthKit/Health Connect, third-party APIs), or regulatory requirements.
Every engagement includes all seven deliverables. No surprises, no scope creep, no hourly billing anxiety.

I'm Fuad Kamal, founder of Anaara.
I've spent decades architecting and shipping native iOS and Android apps for companies ranging from startups to the Fortune 500 — with a focus on health tech.
I started in biotechnology and HIV research before moving into software, which shaped how I think about health apps from day one. I've authored 9+ books on Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and mobile architecture through Kodeco — the same publisher that trains tens of thousands of professional developers. I've built apps for Mercedes-Benz, T-Mobile, HP, Abbott Labs, and federal agencies including the US Department of Energy and Federal Reserve Board. My work has reached millions of users.
I focus on health tech because I believe mobile apps in this space have a unique opportunity — and obligation — to improve people's lives. I understand the domain: HealthKit and Health Connect integrations, wearable data synchronization, sensor data pipelines, AI-powered personalization, HIPAA, and the user-motivation patterns unique to health and fitness.
When I build your roadmap, you're not getting a junior consultant running a template. You're getting the person who writes the books other developers learn from.

Common questions
"We already have a development team or agency."
Great — the roadmap is designed to make them more effective. It gives your team clear direction instead of scattered priorities. Many of my clients use the roadmap to align their internal team or hold their existing agency accountable to a strategic plan.
"Can't we just start building?"
You can. Most companies that come to me have tried that approach. The roadmap typically pays for itself by preventing one wrong feature decision — which, at typical development rates, can easily cost $50K–$100K+ in wasted effort.
"What if we want you to execute the roadmap too?"
Many clients do. Roadmapping often leads to a development engagement, and there's a natural advantage to having the strategist lead execution. But there's no obligation — the roadmap is a standalone deliverable you own completely.
"We're not sure our app is big enough to justify this."
If your app has users and revenue attached to it, it's big enough. The companies that benefit most are often the ones in the $2M–$50M range who can't afford to waste a development cycle guessing.
"Does this cover AI and wearables, or just 'regular' mobile?"
Both. AI-powered personalization and wearable/sensor integration are core to modern health tech, so they're part of every roadmap where they're relevant. I won't bolt on buzzwords, but I will tell you honestly where these technologies can move the needle for your product.
"What if we don't agree with the recommendations?"
The review session exists for exactly this reason. We'll discuss every recommendation. If something doesn't fit your business reality, we adjust. The roadmap should reflect your strategy — I bring the mobile expertise, you bring the business context.
Stop guessing. Start with a roadmap.
A 30-minute call is all it takes to determine if a roadmap is the right next step for your app. No pitch, no pressure — just an honest conversation about where your app is, where it should be, and whether I can help you get there.
